The New American Heritage Sports League (NEWAHSL) is proud to announce the upcoming Annual
Heritage & Sports Event, scheduled from Saturday, May 24, 2025, through Monday, May 26, 2025
(Memorial Day). This exciting three-day celebration will spotlight sports, culture, and community
engagement. We are thrilled to host this year’s event in Columbus, Ohio, showcasing the community’s
rich cultural diversity, hospitality, and unity.
The Annual Heritage & Sports Event rotates yearly among key states, including Mississippi (MS),
Minnesota (MN), Washington, D.C. (DC), and Washington (WA). Columbus, Ohio, now takes center stage
as the host city, welcoming participants from across the United States.

Event Highlights
• Soccer Tournaments: Featuring 16 youth teams, 8 junior teams (ages 10 and under), and 8
senior teams.
• Cultural Showcase: Traditional Somali music and performances by renowned singers and
musicians.
• Cultural Exhibitions: Interactive cultural displays, including art, dance, and storytelling.
Community Impact Focus: Stopping Gun Violence and Drug Abuse
NEWAHSL is committed to fostering safer communities by promoting positive alternatives to violence
and drug use. Through sports and cultural engagement, we aim to inspire youth, offering them
